The Little Moments That Make It Worth The Fight

Choosing to follow your dream into the unknown isn't easy. Especially that of an artist. The choice comes with a future filled with challenges, struggles, uncertainties, tears, moments filled with happiness, accomplishments, miracles, and all of of them in any random order .... at any time. It isn't easy and why should it be? If it comes easy where's the value in it? At least that's what I tell myself.

I had an awesome turn out theses past couple months, but then at the drop of a dime, everything stopped. Radio silence! All of a sudden every test and tribulation that could have possibly been thrown my way this past month..... has been. Like the saying goes "when it rains, it pours". I have kept my head up high and have reminded myself why I do it all. It's because I do what I love! Photography is my first love and you don't give up on your love! You do everything you can to keep it alive. Right?

With everything crumbling before me, I have not been an easy cookie to deal with these past few weeks.....Seriously, its been rough. Every emotion known to man has been witnessed by my family. They have seen it all ladies and gentlemen, they have seen it all! Ha ha ha it's actually quite funny when I recap it my head. Any ways, with them watching me at my worst they still give me all the support and encouragement I need, when I need it the most. Allow me to explain.

I was in my cave of editing solitude when I heard my 5 yr nephew yell out, "Tia, Tia, Come Here!" In which I responded ......."Not, now Charlie, I'm busy". Now, usually this quiets the distraction of a 5 yr boy, but he wasn't giving up this time. Again I hear "Tia, Tia, Come Here!" At this time I hear the snickers and laughter of his mother, my sister in-law, accompanied with "Tia, ya gotta see this!"

I broke, it was inevitable, I had to go see what the ruckus was all about. Much to my surprise, I walked in to find my nephew buried under a mountainous pile of his favorite stuff animals. What happened next made my heart melt. That little boy giggled and shouted with a big smile......"Tia, take a picture. Look, it's perfect!"

Need less to say......I stopped everything I was doing and I took that picture! When I showed him what I captured his eyes lit up and he exclaimed "Wow!"  Just like that ladies and gentlemen, without knowing it, a 5 yr boy reminded me why it's worth the fight. I love what I do because, I do what I love!
